Smart Trout Processing Plant

The Smart Trout Processing Plant project represents a strategic investment in the construction of a state-of-the-art trout processing facility with an annual production capacity of up to 250 tonnes, designed to meet the highest European standards for product quality, food safety, and sustainable manufacturing.

The new production facility integrates highly automated processing lines for fish cleaning, chilling, filleting, packaging, and product dispatch. All production processes are managed through intelligent real-time monitoring and control systems, providing complete raw material traceability, optimized production management, and minimized processing losses.

The project incorporates innovative automation technologies, a vacuum-based waste collection and transportation system, energy-efficient equipment, and advanced environmental protection solutions. By implementing resource-efficient production technologies, the facility significantly reduces water and energy consumption, increases operational efficiency, and maximizes raw material utilization while maintaining consistently high product quality.

As part of the investment, a 150 kWp photovoltaic power system will be installed to supply renewable electricity for the facility’s own consumption, reducing operating costs and significantly lowering its carbon footprint. In addition, the project includes the implementation of internationally recognized management systems ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management), ensuring compliance with the highest international standards for environmental sustainability, food safety, and workplace safety.

By combining advanced processing technologies, digitalized production management, and renewable energy solutions, the Smart Trout Processing Plant establishes a modern, sustainable, and highly competitive production facility that increases the added value of aquaculture products, strengthens market competitiveness, and sets a new benchmark for innovation, efficiency, and sustainability within Bulgaria’s fish processing industry.
