  • Category: Fish Processing, Technological Modernization and Innovation
  • Phase: Engineering
  • Client: ХХХ
  • Location: Bulgaria

The project involves the design and construction of a modern processing facility for trout species, with an annual production capacity of 500 tons, to be realized through the conversion of an existing building. The facility is located on plot of land with cadastral identifier 69016.1.237, owned by the client, in the land territory of the village of Starosel, Hisarya Municipality, Plovdiv Province. A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 450 kWp will also be installed on the roof of the existing building, covering the production facility’s energy needs.

The technological solution includes the design and construction of production lines for cleaning and filleting trout species, developed with a focus on full automation and digitalization of the raw material processing operations — an approach that substantially reduces labor and operating costs. A document management system with scanning devices will also be implemented, ensuring full traceability of the production output and reliable labeling of product quality and origin.

The investment places particular emphasis on human capital development through staff training aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and professional capacity of the production workforce.

In line with the principles of sustainable development and environmental protection, the project provides for the use of sustainable, reusable, and recyclable fiber/solid board packaging, a reduction in water consumption, as well as 100% collection of animal by-products from fish processing through vacuum technology. The energy efficiency of the production process will be enhanced through the deployment of high-efficiency machinery with lower energy consumption and the use of renewable energy sources for the facility’s own needs.

To ensure healthy and safe working conditions, the project provides for appropriate working and rest conditions for staff, as well as the introduction of quality control and occupational health and safety management systems, in compliance with the internationally recognized standards ISO 14001, ISO 22000, and ISO 45001.

Throughout the development of the project proposal, the principles of economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in achieving the set objectives have been consistently applied.
