Industrial building for the production of trout fish up to 350 grams

Project Description

Industrial building for the production of trout fish up to 350 grams in a super intensive, full-system recirculation system

  • Category: Engineering
  • Phase: Technical
  • Client: Fish Farm AD/Ribenata Ferma AD
  • Location: Town of Samokov

The project provides the construction of a plant for the production of “Rainbow trout” (Oncorhynchus mykiss) up to 350 g in a full-system, super intensive, recirculating aquaculture system (RAC). Delivery, installation and commissioning as well as the following production activity will take place in a building, which will be built with 100% funds of “Fish Farm” AD on its own plot. The whole investment is aimed at growing species with very good market potential, more precisely rainbow trout with a planned capacity of 317-350 t / y and a production process running through three phases:

1. Reproduction-producing process – breeding, production of a breeder up to 17 gr. and growing of a uterine herd.
2. Growing fishes from 17 to 57 gr.
3. Feeding fishes from 57 to 350 gr.

The technology program provides for a gradual loading of capacities to achieve the optimal conditions for growing the product as well as full monitoring and management of the chemical and physical performance of the production water. The production volume is in line with the capacity of the plant and the possibilities of extraction of the product under normal load of the equipment and minimal water consumption. The technological equipment under the project is in line with the consistency of production processes in RAC, including the integration of patented technology solutions and good practices in technology selection and know-how acquisition.

The project provides 8 new working places, as well as activities to improve safety and working conditions by purchasing personal protective equipment and special working clothes, acquiring the BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 standard, equipping places for rest and food for the employees, training for employees for safe work with newly introduced equipment, and measures to improve the energy and resource efficiency of the plant.
